    @dbus710 hard fork happens when a major change is set to occur on the running code and protocols of a cryptocurrency. In bitcoin's case, the block size was planned to be increased from 1MB to 2MB and other changes were planned.

    @Atifch Yes it was cancelled because there was insufficient support from the community. When it was announced, it gained around 80% - 90% support from the bitcoin community but it went down during the last few weeks before its implementation, thus the cancellation.
